13-P144 Sprouty genes function as negative regulators of the FGF signalling pathway during cerebellar development

چکیده
diapause. Pafr protein was present in a membrane bound form in the glandular epithelium of the endometrium across all stages, analysis studies are in progress to determine any temporal changes in levels of expression. In vitro, paf production from the endometrium increases after diapause (Kojima et al., 1993). p53 expression assessed by RT-PCR, was detected in the endometrium across all stages of entry into, diapause and reactivation from diapause. p53 protein levels in the endometrium varied dependent on stage examined. These data suggest that paf and p53 may participate in the molecular control of embryonic diapause in the tammar.

Sprouty genes prevent excessive FGF signalling in multiple cell types throughout development of the cerebellum.
Fibroblast growth factors (FGFs) and regulators of the FGF signalling pathway are expressed in several cell types within the cerebellum throughout its development. Although much is known about the function of this pathway during the establishment of the cerebellar territory during early embryogenesis, the role of this pathway during later developmental stages is still poorly understood. Here, w...
متن کامل13-P145 Coupled oscillations in Notch and Fgf signaling underlie the coordination of the segmentation clock and the wavefront for periodic somite formation
Spry1;2;4 knockout cerebella analysed at postnatal day (P)21 have fewer granule neurons and abnormal foliation. We show that the expression of Fgf target genes, Pea3 and Erm are increased, and SHH target genes, Gli1 and Ptch1 are decreased in the at P7 mutant cerebella. A similar postnatal phenotype is observed upon misexpression of Fgf4 in granule cell precursors, consistent with a model where...
متن کاملA bi-modal function of Wnt signalling directs an FGF activity gradient to spatially regulate neuronal differentiation in the midbrain.
FGFs and Wnts are important morphogens during midbrain development, but their importance and potential interactions during neurogenesis are poorly understood. We have employed a combination of genetic and pharmacological manipulations in zebrafish to show that during neurogenesis FGF activity occurs as a gradient along the anterior-posterior axis of the dorsal midbrain and directs spatially dyn...
متن کاملCosuppression of Sprouty and Sprouty-Related Negative Regulators of FGF Signalling in Prostate Cancer: A Working Hypothesis
Deregulation of FGF receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) signalling is common in prostate cancer. Normally, to moderate RTK signalling, induction of Sprouty (SPRY) and Sprouty-related (SPRED) antagonists occurs. Whilst decreased SPRY and SPRED has been described in some cancers, their role in prostate cancer is poorly understood. Therefore, we hypothesise that due to the need for tight regulation of ...
متن کاملSprouty genes control diastema tooth development via bidirectional antagonism of epithelial-mesenchymal FGF signaling.
Unlike humans, who have a continuous row of teeth, mice have only molars and incisors separated by a toothless region called a diastema. Although tooth buds form in the embryonic diastema, they regress and do not develop into teeth. Here, we identify members of the Sprouty (Spry) family, which encode negative feedback regulators of fibroblast growth factor (FGF) and other receptor tyrosine kina...
